Allen K. Shreve III, 53, was following the victim's vehicle and trying to hit it with his own just after 6 p.m. on the 800 block of Anne Street SW on Wednesday, April 10, local police said.
Responding officers determined that Shreve knew the victim, had at one point blocked the free passage of the victim’s vehicle, leading the victim to drive across multiple lawns while being pursued by Shreve, police said. Shreve also struck and knocked down a fire hydrant.
The victim's vehicle was occupied by one adult and two children at the time of the incident. There were no reported injuries.
Shreve was arrested and transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he has been charged with three counts of attempted abduction, three counts of simple assault, one count of DWI (2nd offense within 10 years), one count of destruction of property, and traffic charges. Shreve is currently being held with no bond.
